Fairways and greens of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course along Glorietta Bay, celebrated since 1957 as one of California’s most scenic public championship links.
On December 19, 1957, following years of civic advocacy and planning by local leaders, the City of Coronado proudly opened the Coronado Municipal Golf Course along the scenic shoreline of Glorietta Bay. Designed by renowned golf course architect Jack Daray Sr., the 18-hole championship public course was planned to offer golfers of all skill levels world-class play at affordable municipal rates.
Carved along the gentle coastal breezes of Glorietta Bay and the mouth of San Diego harbor, the course features pristine fairways lined with mature palm trees, emerald greens, and breathtaking panoramic vistas of the downtown San Diego skyline and the Hotel del Coronado red turrets. Golfers often watch naval vessels and sailboats glide past just yards from fairway edges.
Consistently ranked by Golf Digest and major national publications as one of the finest public golf courses in the United States, Coronado Municipal Golf Course is celebrated for its warm community atmosphere and exceptional conditioning. It stands as a shining testament to Coronado's dedication to public recreation.
